Lee Gundel will be leading a group discussion on the following at 1 p.m. at CA:
1/26 - Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson – This novel vividly recounts Mortenson’s rewarding, yet often frustrating, efforts to replace bombs with books and bring education to regions saturated with violence.
2/23 – The Omnivore’s Dilema by Michael Pollan – Pollan urges readers to be aware of the origin of the food that they consume and its toll on the environment.
The Late Movie at Central Avenue - Thursdays at 7 p.m.
12/30 – Four Christmases - PG-13; 88 minutes - An upscale unhappily married couple find their exotic vacation plans knocked out by fog. They are then forced into a four-family frenzy as they attempt to satisfy everyone on the holiday.
1/27 – We Are Marshall - PG; 124 minutes – In Huntington, West Virginia football is life and each season the town comes together to watch. On one fateful night, 75 members of the football team were killed in a plane crash. This film follows the struggle of those who were left behind to deal with the loss.
2/24 – Fighting - PG-13; 105 minutes – Sean MacArthur is a young man who scrapes up a living hustling counterfeit merchandise in New York. A chance encounter with a street-fighting coach leads to a whole new career for Sean.
